Same fire. Same fireflies. Same night. Squirrel curled up on the forest floor, paw at his cheek, exactly the way a small creature sleeps when it has trusted its day completely.
His body is warm gold. His tail is tucked. His face is soft.
The fireflies hover above him too, a little constellation of them. They're the ones choosing his dream. Whatever they gave him, he took it. That kind of trust doesn't happen at random. It's built morning after morning (see Hawk Drops / Squirrel Catches), through a whole day of small moments.
The forest goes back into blue and black behind him. The world is quiet. The stars are the fireflies. The fireflies choose the dreams.
