Was it a dream? Was it real? Did the fireflies whisper it into his sleep (see Hawk Dreams), or did he actually hear a voice through the trees? I don't know. He doesn't seem to know either. He just got up.
His wings are wide open, he's mid-flight, mid-answer, reaching down toward a lantern that sits on a mossy stump waiting for him.
Some nights the light finds you. Some nights you find the light. This one is both. 🌷
