This is Dreaming of Egypt, the bridge between the local adventures and my World Travels Series.
After the flying, the tea, the canoe, and the kiteboarding (see Flight Over Firefly Meadow, Tea by the River, Two Canoes, One Story, In the Wind at Sleeping Bear), Hawk and Squirrel started to wonder what else was out there. The forest is home. But the world is big.
So here is Squirrel at dusk, lying at the foot of a tree in the colorful forest. He's dreaming. In his dream, his friend Hawk is flying over Egypt.
And somewhere in that dream, Squirrel thought: why not?
In the background, on a swing, you can see the silhouettes of grandmother and granddaughter. Maybe they're dreaming it with him. Maybe they're the ones telling him where to go next.
Pack your bags. (see Outrunning the Sphinx)
